Tech Tip: If your check engine light is on, the computer is telling you that the vehicle may not be running up to par. A lot of times going and getting the free computer read out only tells you the codes stored in the vehicle's computer (PCM) This does not mean that each of those components are bad. It could mean that one is causing the problem or there could be multiple problems. You also don’t want to replace a part, you want to fix the problem. Yes it could be a part, but what caused that part to go bad. This should be diagnosed by and ASE certified tech. Vehicle with a check engine light on will also not pass the Texas state inspection.
